Mobile Infirmary provides our patients with the most progressive cancer treatments in the region. Our physicians have extensive expertise in surgical oncology including cancers of the liver, pancreas, stomach, colon, rectum, skin, endocrine, breast and musculoskeletal system. We also provide a surgical intensive care unit and a dedicated oncology unit complete with experienced oncology nurses as well as a team of nutritionists, physical therapists and wound/ostomy nurses.
Patients at Mobile Infirmary benefit from minimally invasive surgery for a variety of cancers. Surgeons at Mobile Infirmary have access to advanced laparoscopic equipment as well as to two da Vinci surgical robots that allow for greater precision and faster recovery when performing procedures for gynecological, prostate, kidney, gastric, colon and rectal cancers. We work closely with medical and radiation oncologists throughout the region to provide the best care for our patients close to home.
We are also affiliated with the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute, (MCI)—the only academic cancer research facility in the upper Gulf Coast area. At MCI, patients benefit from having many oncology services (medical oncology, gynecological oncology, radiation oncology)—in the same state-of-the building. Mobile Infirmary and MCI are on the same campus—patients undergo surgical procedures and hospitalization at Mobile Infirmary.
